An obsessive exploration on the channels by which we travel.

To understand the City of Angels, Joan Didion wrote that one needed to immerse oneself in the freeway experience or, as she put it, “the only secular communion Los Angeles has". The mind goes clean. The rhythm takes over. A distortion of time occurs. Freeways once offered these transcendent qualities in a time of discomfort. But whatever freeing features the communion presented, gradually morphed into our imprisonment, as we sprawled out further into the surrounding zones.

In this communion loop, we commute to our destinations, mindlessly driving from point A to B. The freeways that weave Los Angeles together with steel and concrete, intersect through the diverse city, democratizing our preferred mode of transportation.
